05.09.20 Orange Hibiscus

Orange hibiscus flowers transport me to an imaginary tropical island where everything is calm and fragrant. Not a bad image for Mother’s Day. I decided to harvest a few and pair them with the last of this season’s navel oranges. I steeped the hibiscus petals and orange peel in boiling water for 8 minutes. Allowed it to cool and add squeezed orange juice.
