04.04.20 Lemon Balm (again) with artichokes (again)

When I began this blog, my intention was to post about a new edible everyday either from my yard or someone else’s. But between the major (unexpected) plumbing work going on at our house that has left us with just a makeshift kitchen in the garage, not to mention the repiping of all sewer lines, and the Covid-19 outbreak that makes physical interaction difficult, I am allowing for a few repeats as long as they are prepared differently. We have loads of lemon balm growing sporadically around the yard so it was time to harvest some. And, our unstoppable artichoke had another five offerings today. We cannot get enough pesto these days, in part because a blender is an integral part of a makeshift garage kitchen and because it tastes so damn good no matter how you make it.
