02.02.20 Brussel Sprouts

This plant has put up a sound struggle against the gazillion aphids that have amassed on it’s stalk. I’ve hosed her off and tried to remove as many as possible. But, in order to try at least a little of our first attempt at growing brussel sprouts, harvest day had to be imminent. Today seemed like a good day to let her finally rest so I harvested what I could and then trimmed off so much more. After all that, I ended up with enough brussels for a side sauté of butter and garlic that I shared with my guy at lunch.
