12.18.20 Sweet Basil

My Dad’s basil is doing a heck of a lot better than mine and he’s growing it in containers in a small patio below his condo. Today, he and his partner Beverly invited me for lunch. She made a delicious pesto starring their prize basil. They do have some issues with a pesky squirrel named Edgar who likes to pass his time digging lots of holes in the herb containers. But, that’s a small price to pay for gourmet ingredients just steps away from a kitchen with a cook who knows how to use them.
