08.07.20 Banana Leaves

I cannot for the life of me grow bananas. And, it’s not like it’s impossible in Southern California. Plenty of our friends grow them with ease in their backyards. While I was making a wish on our banana trees, I remembered a dinner party that my friend Sasha had a few years back in El Paso. She served everything on banana leaves and invited us to eat with our hands. So, tonight we ate cashew beef and brussel sprouts on banana leaves, giving thanks to the trees and what they did have to offer.
