farmstand

farm.stand is a project based on a mobile, modular farm stand, which proposes a different relationship between art and the environment by blurring the line between art object and produce. During 2010-2011 farm.stand will serve as the meeting point and delivery system for a number of interventions, performances and art objects which will be part of an effort to engage with “do it yourself” technologies concerned with agriculture.
Taking shell-ter-wear as a starting point—a modular medium designed to create garments which morph into shelters— farm.stand is structured around a bike trailer using salvage pvc pipe, tent poles, steel pipe and modular fabric. Its basic components can be reshaped according to the needs of the specific performance and its structure can be collapsed, pulled by a bicycle and reassembled within minutes.
